linical Specialties

Hi ! My name is Alexis and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Behavioral Specialist. I have experience in the field in various therapeutic roles and treatment settings providing support, guidance, and therapy to adults, children, and families from diverse walks of life.

My passion is working with children, parents, and families using various modalities, such as family systems approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT), solution focused therapy, attachment based therapy, and play therapy. This means I look at each member of a family within the family unit as playing an integral role in how the family functions as well as the individual needs of each person. My goal is to support and guide families to work on communication, respect, and to move forward as a functional system.

I have worked with many children and families experiencing behavioral or relational challenges, which plays an integral role in the functioning of a child/adolescent. If you have found that beginning therapy can be daunting and intimidating, you are not alone. It takes courage to seek therapy. I view the therapeutic relationship as one of the most powerful tools throughout the therapy process. I use an integrative approach to meet the unique needs of each individual from a systemic, collaborative, strengths-based perspective to assist and support clients, meet them where they are at, and keep careful consideration of cultural concerns and practice . My main goal is to respectfully collaborate, empower, and assist in gaining a deeper understanding of each individual, while also helping to identify solutions towards a more satisfying and fulfilling life.

I enjoy working with Children (3-9), adolescents (10-19), and young adults (18-25) with the following diagnoses and challenges:

  • Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
  • Anger control issues
  • Emotion regulation
