Therapy For Children
In-person appointments in Yardley, PA
At MilestoneCW our skilled pediatric specialists work with kids to help overcome the wide range of human emotions experienced on a daily basis. As children, emotions like anger, sadness, anxiety, jealousy can feel foreign and brand new. For children, strong and negative emotions are often observed in behaviors. These behaviors can include acting out, withdrawing or regressing.
In therapy, our goal for working with (ages 3-12) is to utilize what they already know and help them to use those skills to increase communication and increase ways to cope with their emotions. Therapy can be conducted through drawing, role playing or play, allowing the child to utilize their strengths and what they know to expand on their emotions.
In therapy, we will work on identifying emotions and identifying coping skills. CBT techniques are utilized to help kids learn how to recognize and understand their thought patterns and how they contribute to their situation. In CBT, play engages the child and help guide the child in reaching tasks and goals of therapy.
Children’s mental health therapy also includes the parents and caregivers. It is important that parents are an integral part of the treatment process so they can also learn skills that will help to better support their child within the home setting. Therapist will collaborate with adults by modeling skills and helping them better understand their child’s emotions, so they are more equipped to support them on a day-to-day basis.

Alexis Vasquez-Natale, LPC, M.S., LBS
Hi ! My name is Alexis and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Behavioral Specialist. I have experience in the field in various therapeutic roles and treatment settings providing support, guidance, and therapy to adults, children, and families from diverse walks of life.
My passion is working with children, parents, and families using various modalities, such as family systems approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT), solution focused therapy, attachment based therapy, and play therapy.
